The CHISP certification exam and credential designate a qualified professional capable of meeting the needs of hospitals and physicians as they move to adopt electronic health care systems. CHISP professionals demonstrate skills and knowledge in technology and the healthcare industry, including the unique requirements formed where these two trades meet. CHISP tells the hiring sector that this professional understands health IT and both healthcare and IT industries. To maintain the CHISP designation: Must submit 10 CEU's yearly and pay the annual membership fee of $85.
CHISP professionals have valuable skills that make them more secure and marketable. They “stand out” with employers and encompass a wide range of job positions that require expertise in the highly-specialized health IT setting. For the hiring sector, certified staff are always more likely to ensure physician approval and CHISP allows them to avoid hiring missteps.
